THE GREAT COMEDY DEBATE – 19th September 2008
Over 2,000 people cram into the Town Hall each year for a debate like no other.

The general gist is, six comedians are given a moot (topic to debate) they split into two teams, negative (those who don’t agree) and positive (those who do agree) and they entertain the audience by being funny. Sometimes the moot is covered in their speeches, most of the time it’s not. They do like to be mean to each other. But all's fair in love and war…and comedy. Don't miss out!

Just pop into OUSA and purchase a ticket for $15.  Or, if you purchased a Super Pass at Orientation come in and pick up your FREE ticket.  Just bring along your student ID.   Seating is allocated, so if you wish to sit with friends at the debate, come in at the same time to pay otherwise you'll be in different areas of the Town Hall. University Staff may purchase tickets for just $15 from OUSA.  Public $20.

Tickets go on sale 1st September from OUSA & Ticketek

The moot this year is ‘That we’re all just faking it’

This year’s debaters are:

Gary McCormick
Justine Smith
Pua Magasiva
Te Radar
Joe Bennett
Irene Pink

Come along, laugh out loud, leave with a smile on your face
