Rules
The OUSA Table Tennis Tournament is played under the official World Table Tennis rules that can be read or downloaded from www.ittf.com
A copy of those rules is kept at Unipol with the Tournament Table Tennis sets.
Each Match will be the Best of Five Games (so if you win the first three games you don't need to play the fourth and fifth games).
At the conclusion of each match BOTH players sign and date the Result Form and hand it in to the UNIPOL receptionist.
Any disputes regarding the conduct of any Match should be resolved between the players in the first instance. If they are unable to resolve the issue then the dispute will be referred to the Clubs and Societies Centre Recreation Programme Coordinator whose decision will be final and no argument will be entered into.
1 point will be awarded for a win in Round One and 0 points will be awarded for a loss or a no-show. Any games unplayed by 10.15pm on Sunday May 8th, 2011 will be deemed double no-shows and both players will receive 0 points.
At the end of Round One the top two players from each group will progress to the Round of 12 (a Best of 5 Games knockout against an opponent from another group) which will take place between Tuesday 10th May and Sunday 15th May at UNIPOL.
The Semi-Finals, the Grand Final, and the play-off for 3rd and 4th place will be completed prior to the start of the June Examination period.
