R17

R17 INSTRUCTIONS
- There is a separate door for R17s. Any individual that is 17 or does not have acceptable age ID (driver's license, 18+ card, or passport) will be directed to the R17 line.
- You must be sober to enter the venue.
- You must present Tertiary Student ID to the security guard at the door. (We ONLY accept Otago University, Otago Polytechnic, and Aoraki Polytechnic ID cards).
- SECURITY will take your Tertiary ID from you and give it to the events crew (in green t-shirts). The events crew will make sure you have read the rules; they will get you to sign a slip to say you have read them and you understand them. This is attached to your student ID card and kept until you leave the event.
- YOUR student ID card is kept by the events crew until you leave the event.
- Once this is done the events crew member you are dealing with will attach a wristband securely to your RIGHT WRIST.
- You MUST keep your wristband on.
- While in the venue you are NOT ALLOWED to buy, or consume, alcoholic drinks.
- When you wish to leave you must report back to the R17 desk to get your ID back, as stated in the R17 rules, at this point the events crew will cut off your wristband.
- IMPORTANT: Once you are in the venue, there are no pass-outs. If you wish to leave, your wristband will be cut and you will be given back your Tertiary ID. As your ticket will have been ripped you will not be able to regain entry.
- Please take note of the Consequences section of the rules below. In all cases your Tertiary ID will be given to the Proctor and you can expect a meeting with him to explain yourself.
Please make sure you familiarise yourself with the R17 rules and procedures below.
