Start a Club!

• Approach your Club Development Officer at the OUSA Clubs and Societies Centre and discuss your idea.
• Benefits of Affiliation to OUSA – this outlines all the great things OUSA can provide to affiliated Clubs and Societies.
• Download the OUSA Affiliation Policy. This outlines the conditions under which Clubs operate. This document will be posted here soon – please check back or pop into the OUSA Clubs and Societies Centre to talk to your Club Development Officer
• Download the Club Handbook. This contains information to assist clubs.
• Organise a meeting of your potential club to appoint a committee and ensure that you have at least 10 members (90% of which are OUSA/OPSA members).
• Download and complete the forms below, and return to the Clubs Development Officer.
  • Constitution – this is a written document that establishes the principles, rules and regulations that govern the way your club operates.
  • Application for Affiliation – this provides OUSA with all the information needed to affiliate your Club.
  • Membership List – this demonstrates that you can fulfil membership obligations as required by the OUSA Affiliation Policy. Clubs must have at least 10 members, 90% of which must belong to OUSA or OPSA.
  • Conflict Management Schedule – this must be provided by clubs wishing to affiliate to another body. It ascertains what possible conflicts may arise between the Clubs and duties to OUSA and the other body.
• Once all forms have been received by the Club Development Officer, these are forwarded to your elected OUSA Clubs and Societies Representative. It is the CSR’s role to recommend new clubs be affiliated to OUSA at the weekly OUSA Executive Meeting. Once affiliation is approved, the new Club will be contacted by the Club Development Officer.
