MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE BULL-PEN ON TUESDAY 9 APRIL 2024 AT 3.31PM

TE RŌPŪ MĀORI UPDATE

            Gemella will be in Wellington over the weekend to attend a tangi.

            The Te Rōpū Māori whare has had a spruce up and looks good now.

            Sports have been held.

            Te Reo classes happening.

            A Charity event being held.

UNIVERSITY OTAGO PACIFIC ISLAND STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION UPDATE

            Been very busy with many Pacific Island events being held.

            Social Sports held.

            Fijian Association event held.

            Sausage Sizzle held.

            Cook Island community event coming up.

            The planned Leadership weekend in now 4 May.

AFFILIATION  

It was noted the constitution didn’t include a complaints resolution and also no reference to the OUSA affiliation policy. Special mention that their constitution was excellent.

131/24 THAT the Ngā Mokai o Ngā Whetū Club be affiliated to OUSA providing the amendments of reference of OUSA affiliation policy and addition of a complaints resolution.

GENERAL BUSINESS

Market Day tomorrow – thank you to those who have helped sort lost property items for sale.  Please attend on your rostered time for selling items tomorrow.

Capping Charity 2024 – please think about it this week to make a decision at next weeks’ executive meeting.

Quality Advancement Unit survey – please give feedback.

Class Reps – divisions have now appointed their class reps’

Thursdays in Black – there is a hui on Wednesday evening if anyone is interested in attending.

Clubs Council meeting – 10 April, 5pm in the Harry Evison Lounge.

Executive Critic column – this is available for anyone on Exec this week.

OUSA Exec awareness – see Abby for to get contents for a video to go out to schools about what the OUSA Executive do etc.

Also, it has been suggested an Executive member could attend a clubs and societies class and during it explain their role on OUSA. Emma will send out a notice and schedule to the exec.

Hyde Street Party – captions screening on 4:20

Drop-in sessions – Emily will send out a roster.  Todays’ session went well.  Good attendance and students dropping in.

BoardPro training – Josephine will give a session when a time is allocated to show the executive how to use BoardPro.
