Free Breakfast Coordinator

Join the OUSA Clubs & Socs team as a Free Breakfast Coordinator for 2025, providing a vital service Monday – Friday during semesters 1 and 2, including exam periods for 60-100 students per session. The staple of this program is serving out free porridge, toast, a range of cereals and hot drinks to Otago University and Otago Polytechnic students.

With 1-3 shifts available per week, hours are from 7:30am – 10:15am on weekdays, with serving taking place from 8am – 9:45am.

Key duties include:

  • Setting up the Evison lounge for dining.
  • Setting out the Breakfast food and monitoring its consumption amounts.
  • Cooking porridge.
  • Packing out the Evison lounge at the end of each Free Breakfast session, including tidying up of this area.
  • Cleaning up the kitchen at the end of the session.
  • Monitoring the stock levels as per the guidelines of the programme.

About you:

  • Approachable and engaging.
  • Passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Good time management.
  • Experience covering the majority of the duties listed (via paid or volunteer work).
  • Hold a First Aid Certificate and Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (or are willing to gain certification upon successful application).
