The Christchurch based UOC Climbing Club a group of like-minded people who are interested in climbing, regardless of ability level. The YMCA climbing gym (Waltham Road, Christchurch) is the largest climbing facility in the South Island and contains a massive selection of top rope (and lead climbing, if you want to go to the next level...) routes to challenge climbers of all levels. Uprising is one of the largest bouldering gyms in Australasia and has an impressive set up that will get everyone's arms aching!
