WHAT ITS ABOUT

Always wanted to give guitar a go? Well now’s your time! Our tutor creates a relaxed atmosphere for those who have never played guitar before to learn, and run you through the basic steps to get you on your journey to being the guitar player you have always wanted to be.

Our tutor will take you through the following:

• The types of guitar and the parts of a guitar.
• Tuning the guitar
• Simple chords and how to read a chord diagram
• How to read a chord chart (with songs as examples)
• Some basic music theory
• Strumming and picking
• Exercises for finger strength and agility
• Reading simple tablature

REQUIREMENTS

None! we will supply the gutair (feel free to bring your own if you like) and everything else you may need.

Guitar Hire

On site: Guitars are available to borrow from OUSA Clubs & Socs Reception for use within the building. Free of charge! You can also book these outside of class time and book a room at the same time. So no more excuses for not practicing! 

Off site: You can hire a guitar to borrow during the 5 week guitar beginners course, by seeing our team at reception. You'll be required to sign a hire agreement form and pay a bond of $50.00 Terms and conditions apply.
