Contemporary Dance

OVERVIEW

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.


BEGINNERS

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED

This course is open to everyone and there is no expectation of having a previous dance background.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this five week course you will learn beginner level contemporary dance moves and then learn how to put these into a choreographed routine. We have a continued course on offer also if you want to continue your learning after this 5 week course (see link below).


CONTINUED

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED

This course requires some previous dance abilities, although only at a beginner level. If you are a complete beginner, try our beginners class!

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this five week course you will build on your previous dance experience, learn contemporary dance moves and create a final performance piece.


STREAM 1: CONTEMPORARY DANCE - BEGINNERS Tuesday's 6:00pm - 7:00pm 5 sessions starting 2nd March 2021
Ending 30th March 2021
Fee: $35.00 Bring shoes that won’t damage the floor, a water bottle, comfortable clothes that you can exercise and dance in.

STREAM 2: CONTEMPORARY DANCE - CONTINUED Tuesday's 6:00pm - 7:00pm 5 sessions starting 13th April 2021
Ending 11th May 2021
Fee: $35.00 Bring exercise clothing, footwear, and a drink bottle.
