The NZ Rugby Associate Referee Course
WHAT ITS ABOUT
This is a foundations referee course and covers areas such as tackle/ruck, lineout, scrum, and management.
This course gives volunteers a chance to learn more about game management in a practical sense and allow participants to take control of games if required.
Not only is it a compliance course for those wishing to referee grades of rugby up to u19. It is also a fantastic way to learn more about a few of the main technical areas of the game to become a better Supporter, Player or Coach.
We recommend you also do The ORFU Touch Judge course (which is directly after this one!).
REQUIREMENTS
None! An interest is all you need!
A LITTLE ON THE FACILITATOR
The ORRA (Otago Rugby Referees Association) provides training and development for those wanting to become referees. They encourage anyone who is interested to come along to the training and info sessions, as we rely on people like you becoming referees so that the sport can carry on at all levels.
