Clubs and Societies

Squash also known as racquetball is an awesome way to increase your physical fitness, have some fun and alleviate stress!

The Otago University Squash Courts are tucked away just behind the Physical Education buildings (see diagram below). As a student, all you need to do is pay $5 per half hour (for two people) and we'll swap your student ID for a key, racquets and a ball (if required). You can play as often or as little as you like with sessions available between the hours of 9 am to 10:30 pm Monday to Friday or 10 am to 8:30 pm Saturday and Sunday*.

To make a booking please call reception on 479 5960 or come in and see us. Note bookings and key collection both take place at the Clubs and Societies Centre, 84 Albany Street.

For those that love "casual play", you can expand your horizons and join the Otago University Squash Club as a member. The Squash Club offers various memberships and events right throughout the year. If you're nervous about joining a perfect leg-in is their club nights which run every Friday from 6 pm. During club nights you'll get the opportunity to meet members of the club committee, ask a bunch of questions, have a play around, have access to free gear and coaching.

New to the game?  Watch out for our Squash for Beginners courses each Semester as part of the OUSA Rec Programme. Great way to get some quick, fast tips to improving your game.
