Sauna Terms & Conditions

Welcome to our sauna!

We want to make sure everyone has a great experience, so here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Payment is due before your session, either when booking online or at reception check in. If you're a student, please bring your student ID to receive the student discounted rate.
  • During check in at reception when you arrive, you will need to swap a valid photo ID for the sauna room key. Students can use their student ID, non-students can use a driver's license.
  • The sauna can only hold up to 8 people, whether it's a private or open session.
  • The changing area can get wet, so be careful not to slip. We have mats and signs to help, and please use your towel to dry off. There are alternative areas to change and shower located in the 2nd floor bathrooms.
  • The sauna and changing area are shared spaces, so please be respectful of others. No nudity unless you book a private session. It is important to be mindful of cultural differences and others' experiences. We want everyone to feel welcome in our sauna, so please be mindful of how your behaviour affects others. If your behaviour is not conducive to a safe and inclusive space, we may have to restrict your access or take disciplinary action.
  • You have a 1-hour maximum in the sauna, meaning 45 minutes for in-sauna time and 15 minutes to change and return the key. Please arrive and leave on time.
  • Saunas can be very dehydrating, so we recommend drinking water and wearing appropriate clothing. If you're new to saunas, take breaks and go outside the room or take a cool shower. Don't stay in the sauna longer than 15 minutes at a time.
  • Pregnant people shouldn't use the sauna.
  • Recommended use for people over the age of 16.
  • No alcohol or glass bottles allowed.
  • No essential oils are allowed directly onto hot stones (put a few drops onto wooden spoon with water).
  • In the event of losing the room key or causing damage to any of the interior in the rooms, the individual responsible will be held liable and required to cover the costs of replacement or repair.
  • Bring your own towel – or hire one for $1. You must sit on a towel in the sauna.
  • The big red button inside the sauna is for emergencies only. This will alert staff downstairs immediately.
  • Follow staff instructions. OUSA will not be held responsible for any injuries resulting from not following these terms.
  • Sorry, we do not offer refunds for cancellations, no-shows, change of mind, forgotten or missed sessions due to illness etc. Some sessions may be able to be rescheduled – just speak with our friendly reception team.
  • Thank you for following these guidelines, and enjoy your sauna!
