MINUTES OF THE OUSA EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD IN THE OUSA RECREATION CENTRE, ALBANY STREET, DUNEDIN ON TUESDAY 24 SEPTEMBER 2013 AT 4.13PM

INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL COUNCIL MINUTES
Kamil said things were going very well. There had been some very good events. The International Food Festival takings were slightly down but hoped this will improve and stalls will gain more profit in future.

437/13 THAT the minutes of the International Cultural Council Presidents' meetings held 11 July 2013, 18 July 2013, 5 August 2013, 21 August 2013 and 11 September 2013 be received.

ELECTIONS 2014 UPDATE
Attached are the nominations. All positions are contested with a couple with only one person running.

Please sign up to work on the roster for the static booth during the day. Te Roopu Maori are covering all day Tuesday. The Secretary will purchase the chocolate fish.

There will be two roving booths on wireless to attract voters around the campus which the Secretary is organising.

The results will be announced in the Evision Lounge at the Recreation Centre from 4.30pm Thursday. The Secretary is arranging light refreshments.

AIRPORT SHUTTLES
As the attached memo states, Fran has been in consultation with a taxi/shuttle company about airport shuttles being trialed from 11 October until 9 November.

The proposed cost is $12 per student and there will be three pick up points, the Gardens New World, outside OUSA on Cumberland Street and the Dunedin Railway Station.

Bookings could be made through the OUSA website. The Communications Officer would assist with the marketing.

Fran is requesting funding for advertising these shuttles.

438/13 THAT OUSA allocate $2,000 towards running a $12 airport shuttle trial to come from the Campaigns line.

OUSA XMAS PARTY
The Secretary reminded the Executive of the OUSA Xmas Party that they host each year to thank the many volunteers, stakeholders, executive and people who have helped throughout the year. This function is held late October each year before students start heading away. Two suggested dates are 18th and 25th October.

The Gazebo Lounge is being redeveloped to accommodate students from College's for their dinner so it won't be a venue any longer. The Main Common Room was suggested or maybe ReFuel.

Ruby would lead this and let people know. The Secretary is finalizing a venue.



PRESIDENT'S SPEECH TO COMMEMORATE HIS REIGN AND TO THANK HIS TEAM
We were reminded that the Executive elective doesn't officially conclude until 31 December.

Fran took the floor and read his meaningful speech to the meeting. He concluded with emotion and anguish.

Rachael Davidson was granted dispensation for her report until the next meeting.

BANK SIGNATORY
Shah Aslam has been appointed as the Accounts Administrator during Karen Whyte's parental leave. He will be required to be a bank signatory during this time.

GENERAL BUSINESS
Te Roopu Maori/OUSA Executive dinner - 4th October 2013, venue to be finalised.

International Gala Function - This Friday at the Savoy. Please rsvp Kamil if you wish to attend.

It is OK to ask for help campaign - Ruby has invited Lesley Elliott and Vic Tamati to speak in the MCR on Thursday at noon. This forum is about family violence. Rachael and Fran will try and help.
