PRESIDENTS BUSINESS

Executive Restructure proposal – the Policy Committee discussed this further. Another option is a general executive 10 hour per week position in addition to the 2x20 hour a week Vice President positions as it is still cost neutral. Some argued the general position should be more defined.
Payal arrived at 5.08pm
A vote of how the Executive sees the matter for the student body is suggested.
The three options are:
1. Status Quo
2. 1 full time Vice President working 40 per week
3. 2 Vice President working 20 hours per week each with a General Executive member of 10 hours per week
Straw poll: 6 votes in favour of a full time Vice President. 4 votes in favour of two Vice Presidents.

NOTIFICATION OF EXAMINATION DATES BY THE UNIVERSITY
Some students are finding it difficult to plan with exam dates set very late. It was suggested they be set earlier. Zac will bring this up at the next Board of Undergraduate Studies committee meeting and more information will be sought.

APPOINTMENT OF AN INDEPENDENT ARBITRATOR
It is a constitutional requirement for the executive to appoint an Independent Arbitrator. Professor Paul Roth has done the role previously and has indicated he can do so again if asked.
