The University of Otago African Students Association (UOASA) is a student-led cultural organisation that celebrates African heritage, diversity, and unity. Guided by our motto, “Unity in Diversity,” we aim to create a welcoming community for students of African descent and anyone interested in learning about and engaging with African cultures.

Through social, cultural, academic, and wellness-focused events, we provide a space where students can connect, express themselves, and build lasting friendships. From Chai & Chats and cultural showcases to academic collaborations and social nights, UOASA strives to enrich student life by promoting inclusivity, cross-cultural understanding, and community support.
