Otago University Rugby Football Club (OURFC) is unlike any other rugby club in New Zealand. Founded in 1884, OURFC has produced more All Blacks than any other club and continues to lead the way in developing people both on and off the field.

Our focus is community; creating opportunities for career growth, rugby pathways, and personal excellence. This is a student-driven club that balances academic study, sporting success, and social connection. As the only rugby club in Dunedin affiliated with the Otago University Students’ Association, students play a key role in shaping decisions and the daily running of the club.

While OURFC was founded as a students-only club, we now welcome all players, whether you’re studying at Otago or simply looking for a place to belong.

We’re also proud to be the only club in Dunedin where players are eligible for selection to represent New Zealand Universities.
