Do I have to be an Otago University or Otago Polytechnic student to attend?
General Admission Lottery tickets are only available for Otago University or Otago Polytech students, that are second year or above. You must have a valid 2024 Student ID card for either Otago University or Otago Polytech.
These Student ID numbers will be checked after registration and if invalid, will not go into the lottery. We also check your Student IDs when you claim your wristband at OUSA.
What about non-students?
If you are not a current Otago Uni or Polytech student, you CANNOT apply for the lottery.
Non-students can only attend IF you are a resident of Hyde Street or are invited to attend by a resident of Hyde St. or live in an adjoining street.
As a non-student you will need to purchase a NON-STUDENT ticket, price of $70+bf.
I have registered for the lottery, what happens next?
If you are successful, you will receive an email on Thursday 4th April 2024 with a unique code, that can only be used by you. If you try and purchase the ticket with a different name to the registered name, it will be void.

If you are unsuccessful in the lottery, you will also receive an email letting you know, approximately 5pm on Thursday 4th April 2024.
If there are any unpurchased tickets in the lottery these will be offered to the next in line for lottery tickets. An email will get sent out Monday 8th April 2024 by 4pm.
How do I know if I am included in 'Adjoining' Streets?
The OUSA Events team will come around with registration flyers for those houses that surround Hyde Street on the week on Friday 15th March – all individuals in these houses who want a ticket must register.
When we say 'adjoining streets' we mean directly backing Leith Street and Clyde Street residents. Don’t panic if you aren’t home when the team comes around – they will leave you a flier detailing what you need to do.
PLEASE NOTE: No on-sales/ scalping. These tickets are intended for you as a resident of an adjoining street. You must intend to attend the event, if you can’t then please DON’T register. ID’s AND proof of residency WILL BE checked as you collect your wristbands. No proof of residency/ ID, no wristband, no entry.
My Unique Registration Code has expired! What can I do?
If you forget to purchase your ticket by the deadline date and time set then it will have expired and will be unusable. No second chances, so make sure to purchase on time to save yourself the trouble.
I have paid for my ticket online, when and where do I pick up my wristband?
Thursday 18th April & Friday 19th April from the OUSA Main Reception.
Wristband collection will be open from 9am until 6pm at the OUSA Main Reception (opposite Otago Museum through the Archway). You will need to bring your Student ID, Age ID and ticket (digital or printed) with you, plus proof of residency if purchased under the Adjoining Street or Resident quota of tickets.
I can't do the wrist banding days, what can I do?
If you are unable to collect your wristband on either of these days due to being out of town, sport, work or any other legitimate reason, contact hydestreet@ousa.org.nz to arrange collection of your wristband on the event day.
How much is a ticket?
Resident: $20 + booking fee: Online debit or credit card payment only. No wristband, no entry
General Admission/Invited by Resident/Adjoining Street: Price $60 + booking fee, online debit or credit card payment only. No wristband, no entry
Non-Students who are invited by Residents or on Adjoining Street: $70 + booking fee, online debit or credit card payment only. No wristband, no entry.
Credit card fees may apply.
How do I pay for my ticket?
All payments are to be made online by using a Debit or Credit Card.
How many tickets are there?
There is a total capacity of 3,600 attendees we can have at the party to ensure the health and safety of everyone attending.
Why do we ask for proof of residency?
This is a student-centric event. We offer tickets to adjoining streets as a courtesy measure, and these tickets are only intended for your use, as a resident of the adjoining streets, and ARE NOT to be on-sold. If you don’t intend on attending the event, then we simply recycle your allocation back into the lottery allocation, to be purchased at face value by other students.
I bought my Ticket, but want to resell it, can I?
You can resell tickets onto other Students via the ticketing agent, Flicket. Please email support@flicket.co.nz if you need help with the process. Tickets can only be exchanged until tickets go off sale on Thursday 18th April. Tickets can only be re-sold to other second year and above University/Polytech students with 2024 Student ID. ID will be checked upon wristband collection.
You cannot exchange your wristband.
