Porourangi emailed his weekly update
- - Hosted Te Akatoki (UC) and Te Awhioraki (Lincoln) for our Taukaea exchange programme.
- - We had our dress rehearsal last Thursday night. Appreciate those that came to watch!
- - Practice for Te Huinga Tauira
- - Had another Poipoia Te Kakano session last Friday

EXECUTIVE THIRD QUARTER REPORTS DUE

GENERAL BUSINESS
Otago Regional Council – Councillor, Elliot Weir has been working on “A Better Deal for Students” pledge and would like OUSA to sign on, ideas include –
- Free buses for tertiary students (+ under 18s and community service card holders). *
- Restarting the Tertiary Precinct Planning Group and inviting ORC, DCC, OUSA, OPSA, Otago Uni, and Otago Polytec to the table.
- Implementing targeted late-night buses on Friday and Saturday nights.
- A bus connection to the Dunedin Airport (as planned for in the draft Long Term Plan).
- Exploring employer ‘FareShare’ programmes with the Uni and Polytec.
- Growing council outreach at tent city and on campus.
- Increasing ORC science collaboration with Otago University and Polytechnic
- Helping student groups take environmental action through the EcoFund.
- Advocating for DCC to get on with safety improvements on Albany Street and the student quarter
The executive wouldn’t endorse it without seeing the final document and would be endorsing the concept not the candidate. Nina will liaise with Liam.
Local Body Magazine – this is getting near completion; Liam will be finalising it later.
