PROTEST GUIDELINES

          As attached.

          Some time ago, the Registrar, David Clark drafted guidelines for protests on campus       for the           executive to consider.  Back in 2024 a protesting group visited the registry            building, and this frightened the staff. Since this was discussed, there has been a   development where a group wanted to visit the Colleges and were told by University         staff no Education Action Groups were allowed in any of the University colleges at all.  This has questions why students are being censored and could have an impact on OUSA delivering messages as these visits were to include advertising our elections and the up-and-coming SGM. Very important we inform the student body of our intentions, and we agreed this was an efficient use of their time.

Zoe is going to talk to Dr Sean McCallaghan, Senior Warden of Colleges and perhaps James Lindsay, Director, Campus and Collegiate Life could be informed. These guidelines will be tabled for now.

2027 OUSA ELECTION DATES

          The Association Secretary wanted to point out owing to proposed changes to some          roles being considered at the Student General Meeting on 9 September 2026 the      roles aren’t clearly defined until then. It was noted: The executive acknowledge the            roles will be confirmed with the results of the Student General Meeting as            decided by      the student body and they need to be registered at the Companies Office.

BIGGIES/SUBS ALCOHOL LICENSE LETTER OF SUPPORT DISCUSSION

          Biggies Pizza are seeking support for their premises to be licensed. It was agreed            OUSA would send a letter expressing our support for safe spaces for students to         socialise which help promote a good drinking culture.
