            Organising the AGM

            Te Roopu Māori elections close today.

            Working on handover for the new executive

            Awards evening coming up and the Annual Ball.  Tickets still available to purchase.

OTAGO UNIVERSITY PACIFIC ISLAND STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION UPDATE

Fijian Language Week runs from 3 October – 9 October. Celebrated online owing to Covid – 19.

This year’s theme for Macawa ni Vosa Vakaviti – Fijian Language Week is Noqu Vosa, Ai Vakadei ni Noqu Tiko Vinaka, which means my language provides stability to my wellbeing.

NZUSA UPDATE

Michaela and Josh both reached out to Andrew and Liam for a meeting and will have a zoom meeting.  please let them know if there is any information you wish them to be asked.

There is supposed to be a final Policy Committee meeting.  Emily will follow up.

Welfare committee also supposed to meet this week.  The Education Committee meeting isn’t finalised yet.

RETURNING OFFICER FOR REFERENDUM

The Association Secretary notified the Executive Georgia Barclay has been employed as the Returning Officer for the Referendum being held 5-7 October 2021.

STUDENT NUMBERS FOR SEMESTER TWO

            Here are the current student enrolment numbers for Semester 2, 2021

Of these, 2,080 are enrolled in at least one distance paper.

Association Secretary leave – Donna will be on leave from 13/10 – 26/10.  Esther will cover meetings in her absence.
