You will learn how to land safely if thrown, how to escape effectively from a grab, and how to use your body structure and that of your opponent to your advantage.

A LITTLE ON THE FACILITATOR

Seishinkan was started by Phil Davison Sensei at Auckland University in 1993 after returning from studying Martial Arts such as Hapkido, Jujutsu, Iajutsu (Muso Jikiden Eishen Ryu), and White Crane Kung Fu overseas for 13 years.

In the year 2000 Phil Sensei moved to Dunedin and started a branch of Seishinkan. Shortly after an OUSA branch of Seishinkan was started. In the early days it focused more on the Muso Jikiden Eishen Ryu Sword style of Seishinkan. In 2011 Phil Sensei asked Craig Pollock to take over as Head Instructor for the OUSA branch, and Craig has been doing this ever since.

There are four main Martial Arts practiced by Seishinkan. They are Aiki Jujutsu, Musi Jikiden Eishen Ryu Iajutsu, Ryoen Ryu Naginatajutsu, and Bojutsu.
