Social Support Network (SSN) is a new club (est. 2023) at Otago that hopes to facilitate social events for survivors of sexual violence (SV) and their support systems. Everyone, not just survivors, are welcome to join!

SV can be a truly isolating experience. SSN aims to give survivors a safe place to meet new people who share similar life experiences and values. We want to create fun and welcoming events for all to take part in.

We host events such as painting/art evenings, potlucks and movie nights!

It is important to note that SSN is not intended to facilitate a support group or group therapy. Instead, we are a social group that engages in light-hearted activities and promotes connectivity. Group membership is not limited to survivors only. We encourage membership from anyone with an interest in creating a community of kindness and support for those who have been isolated by SV.
