Women's Self Defence

Women's Self Defence

WHAT TO EXPECT

A fun and supportive space for learning and practicing simple techniques—mental, verbal and physical—for staying safe and empowered in a wide range of situations relevant to women's lives: from positive boundary setting in relationships to physically disabling a bigger, stronger attacker. The course also includes information about your rights, where to find support and how to support others.

No experience needed. All women (16+), including trans gender/takatāpui, of all abilities and fitness levels warmly welcome.

NOTE: Stream 2 will be video recorded for a study that aims to understand how self-defence works. Click here for information about the research and how you can decide if you want to take part.  You must confirm that you have read the information and indicate your consent before you can take part in this stream.  If you do not want to take part in the research, please register for Stream 1.
