WHAT TO EXPECT
This course is taught by Bell Murphy, an accredited member of the Women's Self Defence Network –Wāhine Toa. This workshop provides a fun, supportive space for learning about your rights and practising simple techniques—mental, verbal and physical—which anyone can use for staying safe and empowered.
By sharing ideas and suggestions, based on research about what works, this course will increase your options and confidence for dealing with danger in a range of situations relevant to women's lives including strangers in public, people we know and in our relationships. It will also give you more ideas about where to find support and how to support others. All women, including transgender/ takatāpui, of all ages and abilities warmly welcome.
