GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE REVIEW
The review committee is still collating the feedback they received. A suggestion was made that if a referendum was to be held this year it would be best in the second week of the next semester.

GENERAL BUSINESS

Funding application:
$695.00 was received from the application to the DCC for funding for International Week. A big thank you to Matt Tucker for compiling the application forms and researching the information.

Sir David Skegg’s resignation :
David Skegg announced he will be resigning in July next year. He wished to notify the University in plenty of time to give for the selection of a new Vice Chancellor. Harriet has been invited to sit on the selection committee.

International Tuition Fees:
It was discussed at the Council Meeting that International Fees would increase next year owing to the rise of GST.

Limitation of Enrolment:
This was discussed again at Council and now will go to the next Senate Meeting.

Voluntary Student Membership Selection Committee:
Harriet has asked if OUSA staff and Executive could be in the office early on Wednesday morning as Allan Peachey the National Party MP was visiting the Association prior to their meeting. Maryon Street the Labour Party spokesperson for Tertiary Education would come and see us on Wednesday afternoon and Nikki Kaye, Auckland Central National MP, will visit the office on Friday morning.

The VSM Selection committee submitters from OUSA have been allocated times to talk to the Select Committee in the Heritage Room at the Scenic Circle Hotel from 9.30 am Wednesday.

Next Standing Committee Meeting
Next Tuesday at 5.15pm

Post Graduate Lounge:
Travis said thank you to those who helped last week. He would like to organise a games event to follow the drinks and nibbles. Could OUSA donate prizes please? Suggestion he talks to Fiona Bowker about Fair Trade prizes and green OUSA bags. He already has letters going out to businesses for prizes.

Travis said there are two Post-graduate vacancies. He will email interested parties.

Meeting closed at 5.45pm
