MINUTES OF THE OUSA EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD IN THE OUSA RECREATION CENTRE, ALBANY STREET, DUNEDIN ON THURSDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2014 AT 5.15PM

OUSA AQUATIC CENTRE REPAIRS
As attached.

The vinyl in the shower room needs replacing and also repairs to the wall structures as there has been water leakage.

259/14 THAT OUSA approves the expenditure of $25,200 excluding GST to repair the shower room at the Aquatic Centre.

Also, there has been previous approval to fix the balcony balustrade and handrails at the Aquatic Centre. However there has been a wider context of repairs to the balcony canopy.

The General Manager is to wait until 15 September 2014

260/14 THAT OUSA approves the expenditure of $17,015 excluding GST to repair the structural support for the canopy on the Aquatic Centre balcony and the garage doors.

261/14 THAT OUSA approves a possible overspend of $4,515 for the extra work on the balcony and the garage doors.

McLean/Purdon
262/14 THAT OUSA approves the expenditure of $2,000 on property services fees associated with the balcony balustrade and handrail replacement to come from the budget line 3860.
CARRIED

EXECUTIVE THIRD QUARTER REPORTS DUE
A reminder that all reports are due at 1pm on 25 September 2014. Please email them to the Secretary.

UNIVERSITY BOOK SHOP DIRECTOR RE-APPOINTMENT
As attached Stuart Heal's term finishes on 30 September 2014. He has indicated he is available for re-appointment should the Executive desire.

263/14 THAT Stuart Heal be re-appointed as a Director of the University Book Shop for a further term until 30 September 2015.

EXECUTIVE 2015 ELECTIONS
Assistance required on the polling booth and helping with forums please. Ryan, Kurt, Laura and Mariana offered their help.

SQUASH CLUB INCIDENT FOLLOW UP
Henri Faulkner is to follow up with the Squash Club if they complied with the three week ban of alcohol at the club rooms and report back to the Executive.

BUDGET 2015 REVISIT
As attached.

Kurt addressed the meeting explaining the reason for increasing this budget line and said the executive had agreed unanimously to this increase.

Purdon/Ramritu
264/14 THAT OUSA amends the Executive Post Graduate section of the OUSA 2015 proposed budget by $3,500 (from $1,500 to $5,000) to come from the 2600 budget line.

265/14 THAT the proposed 2015 OUSA budget be recommended to the student body in its entirety with the amendment of $3,500 added to the post graduate budget line.
CARRIED

Darel offered to submit the revised amended budget to Critic this evening for advertising to the student body.

The executive did a roundup of what they had been up to this week.

Great Southern Drag Off - 3 October
Disability Awareness Day coming up.
North Dunedin Candidates Debate - Tuesday evening in the Moot Court.
Sustainability lecture - 5pm tomorrow
Domestic Violence March in Wellington - Payal will be attending.

Next executive meeting scheduled for 18 September owing to there being Elections function on next Tuesday then back to normal Tuesday fortnight rotations.



Meeting closed at 5.50pm
