MINUTES OF THE EMERGENCY EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD ON FRIDAY 12 MAY 2017 AT 8.08AM IN THE BULL-PEN OFFICE, OUSA BUILDING, DUNEDIN

Should OUSA oppose the implementation of CCTV monitoring of the student residential area by the University of Otago?

CARRIED

The pros and cons for this questions will be compiled after the Executive have met with the Vice chancellor.

The Secretary will ask our Marketing and Communications team if they can advertise this question as soon as possible to be compliant with our constitution and rules on the notice period for referendum questions being submitted.

The Executive anticipate having extra publicity for this question if possible.


The Executive have been invited to meet with the Harlene Hayne and Stephen Willis later this morning to discuss the CCTV implementation process and student consultation.

Daniel Porter the Manager of University Recreation Services is providing a submission on their behalf about the proposal. Would OUSA support this?

The Executive would like more information but in the meantime would show their initial support for Recreation Services submission.
