OUSA Recreation - Terms & Conditions
The OUSA Recreation Programme is open to everyone – regardless of enrolment, education, employment, age, gender or status. Registrations for each Recreation Programme are on a first-come, first-serve basis until capacity is reached. No waitlists are currently in place. Full payment must be received for your chosen programme/s prior to your course commencing – failure to do so (without prior arrangement with the Recreation Programme Coordinator) will result your withdrawal from the programme. I understand and acknowledge that my Tutor has a contractual agreement with OUSA, and they have the right to remove participants from the programme if deemed necessary. Intoxication, the use of drugs or alcohol and its effects, the use of threatening or inappropriate language and behaviour, or any other misconduct will result in the suspension of participants from the programme, and may have further implications both with OUSA and the University of Otago.
OUSA reserves the right to cancel or make alterations to our Recreation Programmes at any time. Official communication will come from OUSA, with the option for a full refund, or transferring to another stream (charges may apply). Each Recreation Programme has a minimum number of participants required in order to commence – participants will be advised of this no later than 24 hours in advance of the Programme starting, if the minimum number has not been reached.
OUSA Clubs and Societies Centre has comprehensive plan and guidelines, applicable to casual use, and the Recreation Programme. If a course were to be cancelled due to COVID-19, or deemed unsafe to run under the Clubs & Socs COVID guidelines, a proportionate refund will be offered to students, to cover classes missed.
No refunds will be accepted within 24 hours of the course commencing, and are at the discretion of the OUSA Recreation Programme Coordinator. After this time, refunds will only be considered if a medical certificate is presented. Medical certificates will not be accepted after a course has finished, nor provide refunds for classes missed backdating more than two weeks. If you would like to apply for a refund, please contact the Recreation Programme Coordinator for a Refund Application Form. We strongly advise you check your timetable before enrolling in a programme, based on the refund policy above.
In signing up for a Recreation Programme, you are allowing OUSA the right to use at its discretion photographic material of you in any form of media, art, advertising, trade, visual documentary, promotional material, merchandise or film coverage. OUSA shall be the exclusive owner of all photographs, including copyright. These images & footage will be used for positive promotion, and not to discredit you in any way. I understand that I have the right to cancel this agreement at any time by informing OUSA of my wish in writing via email to email@example.com. Once this request is made, it will be applicable to all future productions – all existing promotions may continue to be used.
